2008 marks 50 years since the Radio Old Timers' Association was founded, although it existed for many years prior to that under the title "British Old Timers' Club"..... some G2OT QSL cards were printed with 1959 as the founding year, but it has been confirmed as being 1958. Preparations are already underway to celebrate this milestone in our history. We have now received the NOV from Ofcom for the callsign GB5ØOT. This will be operated by our regular team of Net Controllers at regular intervals during the year. The operating schedule will be shown here closer to the date, but we have permission to use the callsign for 2 Sundays in each month of 2008. We hope to operate the callsign from at least one Get Together, but a number of our regular G2OT Net controllers are authorised to use GB5ØOT from their home QTH. Further information will be added here when available. A Jubilee version of the RAOTA '50' award will be available, for making contact with RAOTA member stations during the year, including GB5ØOT.
